4-H awards due

Washington County 4-H’ers are reminded the deadline for Special Awards and the Community Service Award is Oct. 1.

Senior 4-H’ers (10th through 12th grade) are eligible to apply for five awards: I Dare You, Achievements, Citizenship, Leadership, and AkSarBen. Only county council members or ELITE Project Team members are eligible for the Leadership award.

Intermediate 4-H’ers (grades seven through nine) are eligible to apply for the Intermediate Citizenship award.

Applications include up to three pages of support material and an interview with the 4-H & Youth Committee. All applications are due to the Washington County Extension Office by Oct. 1. Interviews will be held the evening of Oct. 9.

In addition, any Washington County 4-H club may apply for the Community Service Award. This award is for projects completed within the current 4-H year. Application includes a project folder due to the Washington County Extension Office by Oct. 1.
