Sewer collapses

Aug 11, 2010
A sanitary sewer pipe collapsed on Jefferson Street Wednesday and left a hole several feet wide and almost 20 feet deep, which consumed part of the wooden fence pictured above. City Administrator Dave Plyman said the sanitary sewer is not plugged and that to his knowledge has not leaked. He said the top of the pipe is gone and will have to be replaced. A portion of the sidewalk on Jefferson Street west of the high school is blocked off while city crews look into the problem.
