Absentee ballots available for special election
Absentee ballots are now available for the Oct. 8, 2013, special election concerning Board of Supervisor District No. 5. Voters who want to vote by absentee ballot may do so in person at the Washington County Auditor’s Office before Tuesday, Oct. 8. Auditor’s office hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays; 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27; 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 4, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 7.
Alternatively, a ballot can be mailed to a voter upon the voter’s written request. The ballot request form may be obtained from the Washington County Auditor’s Office or downloaded from the following Web site: <http://co.washington.ia.us>. Requests for absentee ballots may be delivered or mailed to the Washington County Auditor, 222 W. Main St., Box 889, Washington, IA 52353, and must be received in the Auditor’s Office no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 4.
