American Legion Auxiliary
Members of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 29 had the monthly meeting at the ambulance building on April 9.
In the absence of president Mary Sypherd, vice president Jamie Sturm presided. Record of volunteer hours, clipped coupons, and pop tabs were turned in. A military person stationed in Germany sent a thank-you for coupons and for the unit’s taking time to provide them.
Discussion of poppy distribution and sign-up was presented, and then the information was passed on to the Legion meeting at Blair House.
Martha Hahn and Carla McCandless selected candidates for the Auxiliary merit award for a graduating senior. Final decision is made by the school.
Sign-up sheets for providing and helping to serve desserts at the car shows this summer were passed around. Walmart has provided containers for these events.
Nomination of officers was presented. The officers will be installed at the May meeting.
The next meeting will be the second Tuesday in May at the ambulance building at 7 p.m. All members and interested persons are invited to attend.
