Arlene Bernice Kallaus Horak, 93, of Keota, formerly of Washington, died Thursday, April 13, 2017, at her daughter’s home near Keota.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Monday, April 17, at the Washington United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ben Blanchard officiating. Burial followed in the Riverside Cemetery. Visitation began at 1 p.m., Sunday at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington, with family receiving friends from 4 to 6 p.m.
Mrs. Horak was born Oct. 10, 1923, in Washington County, the daughter of Frank Albert and Mamie Sylvia (Havel) Kallaus. She married Elmer Kron. The couple later divorced. She later married Archie Horak.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Washington United Methodist Church. She enjoyed collecting angels, word search games, animals and visiting with family on the phone.
Surviving are one daughter, Barbara Wehr and husband Lester of Keota; one son, Gary Kron and wife Linda of Ainsworth; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; one brother, Carl; and one sister, Betty Yeggy.
