At the Library
With temperature readings below zero, it’s hard to believe, but the staff at the library have begun making the big plans. We are gearing up for our biggest program of the year, summer reading.
A trip to Waterloo on a beautiful Saturday last week, got us motivated to start the planning process. The State library and Rick Brammer, a well respected book salesman, organized a showcase of performers who gave us the opportunity to see what’s new in library entertainment aimed specifically at summer reading. We enjoyed performances from a variety of entertainers coming from as far as St. Louis, Kansas City, Chicago, Springfield, Ill., and many places from around Iowa. Though it was a difficult decision trying to narrow our choices down to just a few, we are very excited with our lineup for summer, and are confident we will provide another summer of reading fun for our library friends both old and new.
Sadly, as we make our plans, we will be without the help of our dedicated library staff member, Jenisa Hanson. Jenisa has done an outstanding job overseeing school-age programs, along with working the front desk. She is a familiar and friendly face to many families. We will miss the enthusiasm ( and her cool jewelry) she brings to the library and her programs, but wish her well in this new chapter of her life.
