At the Library

The Next Generation WILBOR
By Linda Witthoft, Washington Public Library | Mar 22, 2013

If you use WILBOR to download your eBooks, here is a step-by-step guide to downloading your eBooks using the new version of WILBOR.

Visit <http://www.washington.lib.ia.us/>. Select the digital collections tab at the top of the library's Web site. Then click on the WILBOR link.

Or visit the WILBOR Web site at http://wilbor.lib.overdrive.com; browse or search for a book.

Browsing:

Icons in the corner of a book cover tell you whether the title is audio or eBook. If the icon is black, the title is available. If it is gray, it has a wait list.

Searching and checking out:

1. Remember to use “advanced search: to immediately limit by format and availability. You can also view only currently available titles by clicking “available now” on your search results.

2. Look for your preferred format as a choice on a title, and click on “borrow”

3. On “Bookshelf,” you will be given the option to download your selection of “Return the Title” if you’ve changed your mind. Clicking the download button will allow you to select your desired format. Note: once you select a format, you may only be able to return the title via the software.

4. Select your desired format and click “Confirm and Download.”

Holds:

When a title becomes available to borrow, you will receive an e-mail notification. It will tell you, you are user nine out of 48 on the waiting list. Once you receive the e-mail notification that your book is available you will have 72 hours to claim your book.

Returns will still be done by either Adobe Digital Editions (for eBooks), Overdrive Media Console (for audiobooks downloads to a PC or Mac) or the Overdrive Media Console app (for eBooks and audiobooks on a mobile device) wherever the title was downloaded.

Bookshelf tab takes you to the items you have checked out or are in the process of checking out. The Holds tab will take you to your items on hold. The List tab will take you to your wish lists.

Settings:

WILBOR does not offer additional lending period options at this time.
