Babysitting Basics course offered

A Babysitting Basics training course will be offered to help youth learn how to be responsible babysitters. Topics to be covered include employer expectations, caring for infants and young children, age-appropriate toys and activities, safety, emergency, and first aid procedures.

The program is for any youth (boys and girls) who have completed fifth grade and above. The five-day course will be held June 9-13 or July 28-Aug. 1 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. There is a fee to take the course. Interested youth are encouraged to register early, as each class is limited to 30 students.

Registration forms are available at the Washington County Extension Office or online at <http://www.extension.iastate.edu/washington/>. Registrations are due by May 30. For more information, contact the Extension Office at 319-653-4811.
