Baylor's big night pushes Mid-Prairie to the second round
WELLMAN — Junior Eesaa Baylor rushed for 184 yards and two touchdowns to lead Mid-Prairie to a 24-7 win over PCM in Wednesday’s Class 2A first-round playoff game at Doc Sattler Field.
Junior quarterback Reid Miller was also 10-for-16 passing for 120 yards, including a 13-yard touchdown pass to senior Ryan Hoffman. Hoffman had three catches for 20 yards, and senior Elliot Runciman made three receptions for 40 yards. Baylor had a 32-yard reception, and junior Canaan Powell made two catches for 21 yards.
Miller and junior Zachary Schwartz made eight tackles apiece to lead a Golden Hawk defense that limited the Mustangs (4-7) to just seven points. Powell made six stops, and Hoffman intercepted a pass.
Junior Blake McWilliams rushed for 125 yards, including PCM’s lone touchdown.
Mid-Prairie (8-2) will travel to Bondurant-Farrar (9-1) on Monday night for a second-round playoff game.
