Boil order for West Chester
The City of West Chester has been under a boil order since Saturday afternoon and will be until at least Wednesday. West Chester Water Superintendent Jeff Soper said a water main broke Saturday afternoon at about 5 p.m., prompting the boil order.
Soper took two samples from the water main Sunday and will take two more today. They will be delivered to the State Hygienic Laboratory at the University of Iowa Tuesday, and the results of the tests should be available Wednesday.
Water used for drinking and cooking should be boiled. Water used for bathing need not be boiled, Soper said. For questions or further information, residents may call Soper at 319-653-1536.
