Brandon Hamilton escapes with win at WG & CC Club Championship
In the Championship Flight of the Club Championship at the Washington Golf and Country Club, Aug. 17, Brandon Hamilton edged Jake Quinn by two strokes for the win.
Hamilton shot at a 110 clip in a 27-hole game. Chad Pepper came in third with a score of 113 just one shot behind second place.
The First Flight tourney was an 18-hole course. Bruce Smith took home first place with 80 strokes. Kevin Threlkeld and Don Miller both matched each other for second as they both shot 83.
The Second Flight saw three players finish within one shot of the top spot. During the 18 holes, Jim Lloyd finished one stroke ahead of second and third place as he scored 87. Brett Rich and Tom Lowe tied for the second spot.
The Women’s Division course was 18 holes. Diana Rich ran away with the title shooting 80, which matched first place in the men’s first flight. Erin Thorius was the only other woman to place with a runner-up showing of 90.
