Breard's 29 points help Washington's JV boys top Pella in overtime
Washington junior Walker Breard’s free throw with 45 seconds remaining in regulation sent Tuesday’s junior varsity boys’ basketball game against Pella to overtime, and the Demons pulled away in the extra period for a 69-63 victory.
Breard finished with 29 points to lead Washington (12-2), and he also had seven rebounds, three assists and two blocks. Sophomore Gage Redlinger added 13 points, five assists, three rebounds and three steals. Juniors Mason Quigley and Noah Lebsack scored eight points apiece. Lebsack also had seven rebounds, four assists and four steals in the contest, and Quigley had six assists and three steals. Junior Elijah Wood chipped in five points, two assists and two steals, and junior Brett Wright had four points to go with six rebounds. Sophomore Isaiah Zuehlke scored two points, and sophomore Travis Friese grabbed a pair of rebounds.
The Washington junior varsity boys’ basketball team will host Keokuk today at 4:45 p.m. in the high school gymnasium.
