Brighton Bear Cub Club shares Christmas goodies with Brighton businesses

Dec 16, 2013
Photo by: Washington County Extension The Brighton Bear Cubs divided into four groups to deliver cookies to four Brighton businesses. Each person in the group had a job to deliver cookies, deliver the card, or be the speaker. Each youth practiced those communication skills before making the deliveries.

The Brighton Bear Cub Club gathered Wednesday after school for a fun mix of holiday activities. The main objective of the day was to celebrate the season by giving to others.

The youth worked together to read baking directions, bake cookies, and package them for downtown businesses in Brighton. The group then walked to each business to make their Christmas deliveries. They also made marshmallow snowmen pictures that will be shared with residents at the McCreedy Home in Washington.

Brighton Bear Cub Club is delivered by Washington County Extension and Outreach and sponsored by Brighton Horizons. The Bear Cubs will meet next on January 29 at Brighton City Hall . For more information contact the Washington County Extension Office at 319-653-4811.
