Caryl Smith was visited by three friends from Janesville, Wis. They arrived on Oct. 25 and left on Oct 28.
Approximately 50 people attended the Harvest Party on Oct. 27. It was sponsored by Brighton’s First Church of God. Everyone enjoyed the food and carnival-type games at the Brighton gym.
Ruth Neff held a china show at her studio in Olds on Oct. 24-25. Marty Hill of Kansas City, Kan., did a demonstration. She did aluminum etching on porcelain. Marty was an overnight guest of Donna Guy in Brighton on Oct. 26. On Oct. 27, Donna and Marty visited Gerald Schimmelpfennig at Halcyon House in Washington. They were joined for dinner by Mildred Guy and Walt Pacha.
Lucy Dietzman of Keosauqua and Mary Stecker of Fairfield visited their mother, Winifred Fritz, on Oct. 25. They cleared and tilled her garden to prepare it for spring.
Enjoying the evening meal Oct. 27 at the home of Winifred Fritz were her children, Virgil and Jane Symmonds, and Mary Stecker with friend Joel, all of Fairfield, and Tony Fritz with friend Lynn of Brighton and North Liberty. Also present were Mary’s children, J.D. Hollingsworth of Packwood, and Bridget Hollingsworth of Fairfield.
