Wyatt Sieren, son of Ryan and Roberta of Keota, celebrated his 11th birthday on Jan. 1. A special dinner was held at the family home. Those present included his sister Abbie of Ottumwa with friend Cody of Des Moines, grandparents Bob and Carrol Shelangoski of Brighton, and his uncle and aunt, Bob and Robin Schulty with Spencer and Felicia and friend Jesse of Wellman.

Shirley Schooley was in Columbia, Mo., visiting her son Mike and Cindi, Dec. 26-27. Their son Grant of Missoula, Mont., was also there for the holiday break.

Ginny Brinton visited her brother, Fritz and Nancy Gowey, in Milan, Ill., Dec. 23-26.

On Dec. 28 Shirley Schooley attended the 70th birthday open house for Louise Frakes. It was held at the Methodist Church in Washington.

Tim Berry with Isaac left Winifred Fritz’s home in Brighton on Dec. 27. They were going to his parents’ home in Galt, Mo., to go deer hunting. Isaac called later to say he’d gotten his first deer.

Rita Berry with Megan, friend Melissa, and Winifred Fritz went to the home of Lucy Dietzman in Keosauqua on Dec. 28. Rita with Megan and Melissa went on to Galt, Mo., for a Berry cousin Christmas celebration at the home of her in-laws. On Dec. 29, Lucy hosted a dinner in her home. Those able to attend were Winifred’s brother Herb and Sandy Moeller of Wever, and their sister Kathleen and Francis Spiesz of Farmington and son Mike Spiesz with Erin of Mount Pleasant. Lucy brought her mother, Winifred, back to Brighton on Dec. 30.

On Dec. 31, Winifred attended Mass at the Richland church with her daughter Mary Stecker of Fairfield.

Jane Symmonds of Fairfield visited her mother, Winifred Fritz, on Jan. 1.

Marlin Mast visited Winifred Fritz on New Year’s Day to deliver a basket of fruit and food.
