Gerald and Rosemary Pacha were in Urbandale Sunday, Jan. 6, to attend their granddaughter Aurora Phillips’s first birthday. Their daughter Jennifer and husband Brian Phillips hosted the birthday party for friends and family. Attending the party were Janice Mineart, Aurora’s godmother, of Des Moines; Jean Frazer, a family friend of Iowa City; and Brian‘s parents of Central City, as well as neighbors and friends of the couple.
St. Joseph & Cabrini Altar and Rosary Society met on Jan. 8 in the church hall at St. Joseph Catholic Church in East Pleasant Plain. Tentative plans were discussed for a marriage enrichment day and the annual soup supper to be held in March at Cabrini Hall in Richland. Plans for a guest speaker were also discussed. Dates and times will be announced later.
Ten point pitch is being played at the Brighton Community Building each Tuesday evening starting at 7 p.m. Ten games are played for $1 admission. Players may bring a finger-food snack if they wish. Everyone is welcome.
The Krony Krew Bridge Club met on Jan. 9 at the home of Ginny Brinton. Prizes were won by Louise Frakes, Kathryn Dickinson and Ginny Brinton. Their next meeting will be held at the home of Kathryn Dickinson on Jan. 23.
Jane Symmonds of Fairfield spent the afternoon and evening at the home of her mother, Winifred Fritz, on Jan. 5.
Bringing the evening meal of Jan. 6 to the home of Winifred Fritz were her daughters Jane Symmonds and Mary Stecker with friend Joel of Fairfield.
