Jay Pacha, son of Jeff and Michelle Pacha, and grandson of Gerald and Rosemary Pacha of Brighton, is a junior at Carroll Bishop High School in Wichita, Kan. He has made it to the state wrestling tournament the past two years. On April 3 at the high school’s athletic banquet, Jay was awarded the David Schultz Leadership Trophy. He also received the Hardest Working Wrestler Award. He received his third varsity letter. He was elected captain of the wrestling squad during his junior year.
Winifred Fritz was visited on April 7 by her children, Mary Stecker with friend Joel, and Jane and Virgil Symmonds, all of Fairfield; and Tony Fritz of Brighton with friend Lynn of North Liberty. Also present were grandsons J.D. Hollingsworth of Packwood with friend Becky of Fairfield; and Michael Fritz, son of Joe and Lori, of Brighton. They enjoyed the food they brought for the evening meal, and being together.
The Altar and Rosary monthly meeting of the St. Joseph — Cabrini Church was held on April 9. The parish council of the church met on April 10 for its monthly meeting.
The Krony Krew Bridge Club met on April 10 at the home of Dorothy Miller. Winners were Kathryn Dickinson, Louise Frakes and Elaine Watson. Their next meeting will be April 24 at the home of Kathryn Dickinson.
