Brock says he will provide legal advice to board of supervisors
Washington County Attorney Larry Brock said that after doing some research, talking to Corwin Ritchie of the Iowa County Attorneys Associate and Michael Bennett, an assistant Iowa Attorney General, that he can provide legal advice and opinions to the Washington County Board of Supervisors.
Brock said that they determined that his duty is to represent the entity — the Board of Supervisors — and not individual supervisors. He sent letters to county departments informing them of this change. He also said that it took some time to come to this conclusion because people were out of town last week and he as prosecuting a case in court.
