Bucket of Junk contest winners
The Washington County Fair's fourth annual Bucket of Junk art sculpture contest winners have been selected.
Each of the 10 contestants received identical items in a five-gallon bucket on June 1, from which they created their sculpture. They had six weeks to design a sculpture. The sculptures are all welded and each one weighs about 75 pounds.
The sculptures were auctioned off Thursday. All proceeds will go towards the 4-H Program.
The first place winner is Rainbow Garden. It was created by Sally and Will Hart of Ainsworth.
In second place is Frog on a Log, created by Derek and Jolisa Bombei and family of Wellman.
The third-place winner is Penelope and Petunia the Pig, sculpted by Dustin and Barbie Norman Ford and family of Wellman.
Other contestants were Rick and Pam Murphy and twin sons Collin and Tanner of West Chester, Mike and Denise Peiffer and family of Washington, Amanda Peiffer of Riverside, Tye and Diane Rinner and family of Washington, Darren Rickheim-Hiller and Tom McVey of Crawfordsville, and Jonah Van Roekel and sisters of Wellman.
