Ed Weeks, chair of the Washington County Hospital and Clinics Board of Trustees, presided at his last meeting on Thursday, Dec. 27. Weeks has been a trustee for more than 12 years.

Keith Lazar will become the chairman of the board at the board's monthly meeting on Jan. 31. He presented a gift to Weeks at the end of the Dec. 27 meeting.

Chief Financial Officer Steve Sanders reported that the total operating revenue for November was $3,372,069, which was down from October. However, the November revenue was 2 percent over the year-to-date budget. The excess revenue over expenses in November was $451,267, an increase of $574,881 over October.

The trustees approved the purchase of the BACTEC Blood Culture System/Lab at a cost of $14,375, plus shipping and handling of no more than $650. This was an emergency replacement and not a budgeted request.

The trustees also approved the purchase and installation of a heat exchanger for a total cost of $13,500 and new doors and hardware for the McCreedy Home at a cost of $8,585. The new doors and hardware were required by the state fire marshal's office.
