The May 2, 2013, meeting of Chilcote Questers 1092 was called to order by new president Virginia McCurdy, at 7 p.m., at the home of Nita Lovick. Roll call was answered by “My favorite place to travel.” Ten members were in attendance. Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read. The treasurer’s report was given.
The upcoming June 1 trip to Quasqueton State Park to tour the Frank Lloyd Wright Home and other places of interest around Independence was discussed. Virginia McCurdy and Jackie Ross gave a report on what the group might enjoy. The group will depart from the former Fareway parking lot at 8 a.m.
A sign-up sheet was passed around for members to sign up for next year for hostess, co-hostess and programs.
Kathleen Almelien and Nita Lovick reported to the group about State Day that was held in Iowa City on April 12-13. They reported the programs were wonderful and there were several places they toured.
The program was given by Jackie Ross on Jekyll Island. She told about the history and many interesting places there.
Lunch was served by co-Hostess Wendy Langan.
The next meeting will be Sept. 5.
