Chilcote Questers No. 1092 held its monthly meeting on Oct. 3, 2013, at the home of Kay Bennett, with Nita Lovick as co-hostess. Eleven members answered roll call with “My favorite old kitchen item.”
The minutes of the September meeting were read and approved. Jackie Ross reported the books she had located for the Joyce Horsey Memorial. After some discussion, the group voted and decided on two books on Fenton glass. Marj Lins made a motion to order and was seconded by Kathleen Almelien. The group voted to go ahead and purchase the two books, which will be a nice addition to the library.
President Virginia McCurdy reminded the group of the SW Area Day at Indianola on Oct. 19.
They discussed further the 175th Washington celebration. The group discussed the possibility of a float. Also discussed were windows to be decorated and what themes the club might want to use. Members suggested different people who would be beneficial to interview for history of the town. More discussion will be at the next meeting.
The meeting was adjourned.
An interesting program was given by Kay Bennett on “Yellow Ware.”
The next meeting will be at Virginia McCurdy’s home on Nov. 7, with Wendy Langan as co-hostess and Virginia giving the program on “Hurtsville Lime Kilns.”
