The Nov. 7, 2013, meeting of Chilcote Questers 1092 was held at the home of Virginia McCurdy in Washington, with Wendy Langan as co-hostess.
The meeting was called to order by President Virginia McCurdy with nine members answering roll call by telling the group “What is your favorite glassware?”
The group thanked Nancy Schmidt for bringing the new Quester Christmas ornaments that were for sale before the meeting.
The treasurer’s report was given, and the minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. There were no committee reports.
Virginia read correspondence from the state, telling the group about grants that could be given for special projects. The group discussed different dates for grant deadlines and what they might want to think about at a later time. Virginia is going to contact the other two Quester clubs to see if they are interested in the three clubs’ going together and doing a grant for the log cabin in the park.
Virginia reminded the group of the deadline for Hawkeye tales. She also told the group about an antique show at the fairgrounds in Des Moines.
Next meeting will be Dec. 5, which will be the club’s annual Christmas Auction at the home of Pat Fritz, with Linda Gonshorowski as co-hostess.
The meeting was adjourned.
An interesting program was given by Virginia on Heisey glass, which was made from 1896 to 1957.
