The Dec. 5, 2013, meeting of Chilcote Questers 1092 was called to order at 7:15 p.m. at the home of Pat Fritz, with Linda Gonshorowski as co-hostess.
Eleven members answered roll call with a “favorite Christmas tradition or event.” The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. There was no correspondence.
The group discussed some ideas for decorating windows for the 175th Washington Celebration.
Kathleen Almelien moved to check with the “Hawkeye Tales” about articles that have been submitted and have not been published.
The group discussed different grants that could be applied for. President Virginia McCurdy asked the members if they would be interested in applying for a P & A grant for money for the log cabin, since it needs several repairs. Kathleen Almelien and Marj Lins volunteered to check into it as well as the international grant. Kathleen Almelien moved to contribute to State P & R, Terrace Hill ornament fund and the state glass fund. It was seconded by Phyllis Eisele, and the motion was carried by the group. Everyone was told to keep June 7 in mind for a group trip to Le Claire. There will be no January meeting.
The next meeting will be on Feb. 6 at the home of Phyllis Eisele, with Wendy Langan as co-hostess.
The Christmas auction had lots of great items and something for everyone.
