The Feb. 6, 2014, meeting of the Chilcote Questers 1092 was called to order at 7:15 p.m. by President Virginia McCurdy at the home of Phyllis Eisele, with Wendy Langan as co-hostess.
Nine members answered roll call, telling where each was born and something significant about the town.
President McCurdy also reminded members about the March 14, 2014, deadline to register for State Day, which is called “Life’s Journeys,” that will be held in Boone, Iowa.
Members had a discussion about the June trip and possible dates. Mary Levy and Jackie Ross are planning the day, and the group will discuss it more at the March meeting.
The group also had some discussion about some ideas for decorating a window for the 175th celebration, which is planned for June 1 through June 8, 2014.
The group also discussed applying for International grant, which is due in November, for the Log Cabin repairs. Mary Levy is going to contact the other two Quester groups about maybe going together on this.
The group also was told about a summer garden tea that will be held at the home of Sheila Gerot.
The next meeting will be held March 6, 2014, at Kathleen Almelien’s home. She will also give the program on “Peters and Reed pottery.” Co-hostess will be Marj Lins.
The program was given by Phyllis Eisele, and was about some of the history of Crawfordsville. She has lots of items from there and had a scavenger hunt for members to locate.
