Clarinetist to perform at library
The Young Artists Series of daytime concerts continues on Thursday, July 25, at 12:15 p.m., with Keri Murphy on clarinet. She will be assisted by Julie Hill, a former music teacher. Keri is a 2013 graduate of Washington High School. She belongs to a rare group of musicians — those who have been selected to play in All State Band all four years. She is also the third generation of women in her family who play clarinet. The other two are her mother and grandmother.
Keri will be a freshman at Central College in Pella, this fall. Her current teacher is Iowa Wesleyan Professor Jason Edwards. The performance will be held at the Washington Public Library on the second floor.
