Class of 1948 gets together
The Washington High School Class of 1948 celebrated their 65th anniversary by going back to school.
The day began at Red Brick country school, where Vic Thompson assured the group that playground bullying was nothing new. Following a short time of visiting, the group moved to what is now the Middle School for a sack lunch and a trip down memory lane with Aaron Six and Devyn Glaspie. The afternoon included a tour of the new high school with Eric Buchholz. The day ended with dinner at the United Presbyterian Home dining room with Ellen Anderson-Keiffer and her staff preparing and serving a delicious meal.
Those attending were: Duane and Jean Earl of Gold Canyon, Ariz.; Bob and Colleen Godwin Robinson of Manhattan, Kan.; Jerry and Diane Denison, Carol Grecian Manary, and Herb and Nancy Patterson Townsend, all of Iowa City; Lloyd and Jane Luers of Brighton; Abigail Perez Schrock of Kalona; and LeRoy and Colleen Havel, Norma Horak Sandburg, Mary Knotek Fladung, Bob and Bernice Logan, Richard and Mary Rhodebeck McCall, Jim and Joan Rich, Joe and Rosamond Sojka Goodlander, Victor Thompson, Leo and Rose Vittetoe, Helen Wilcox Reschly, Harold Wylie, Bev Crandall Young, Mary Putman, Dona Watson, and Audra Williams, all of Washington.
