Clear Creek-Amana rallies past Demon eighth-grade girls
Washington led Clear Creek-Amana 14-12 at halftime of Monday’s eighth-grade girls’ basketball game, but the Clippers rallied to win 35-29.
Alexi Evans had 11 points and nine rebounds to lead the Demons (3-7), and Lexi Redlinger added nine points and two rebounds. Michaela Roder had three points to go with four rebounds, and Brenna Weidman had two points, four boards and two steals. Bella Giardino contributed two points, a rebound and a steal, and Jessie Buchholz had two points and a steal. Alexis Turner grabbed a pair of rebounds.
The two teams also played a fifth quarter, which Washington won 10-2. Buchholz, Evans, Giardino, Redlinger and Roder each scored a basket for the Demons.
The Washington eighth-grade girls’ basketball team will travel to rival Mt. Pleasant on Thursday before wrapping up its season on Friday with a home game against Fairfield.
