Country school classmates meet after 75 years
Lois (Nelson) Kauffman and Zelma (Nicholson) Sieren had not seen each other for 75 years. They both went to Walnut Grove School together. The school is still standing and it's well preserved.
Lois's daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Bob Pilcher, took her to a Sunday brunch in Hedrick. While Lois (who was in a wheelchair) was waiting for her daughter and son-in-law to fix her plate, Diane Black of Ottumwa brought her mother, Zelma, for brunch.
Zelma walked up to Lois and said, "Are you Lois Nelson?"
Lois almost jumped out of her wheelchair, grabbed Zelma and yelled, "Zelma Nicholson."
After all of those years, they still knew one another. What is the chance of this happening after all these years?
Lois is 89 and Zelma is 87. Lois's address is 1202. W. Mary, Ottumwa, IA 52501. Carolyn said it would be nice for friends to drop Lois a line or call her at 641-684-4744.
