Bailey Graber of Crawfordsville represented the Crawfordsville American Legion Unit No. 593 at the Iowa American Legion Auxiliary Girls State from June 16-21 on the Iowa State University campus in Ames.

The daughter of Amanda Graber of Crawfordsville and Jarod Graber of Crawfordsville, she was one of approximately 300 young women attending Iowa Girls State who have completed their junior year of high school. While there she took part in city, county and state government.

Bailey attends WACO High School and has been on the Honor Roll and participated in volleyball. She has been involved in the United Church of Crawfordsville Youth group.

She has two sisters, Laney, 10 years and Peyton, 10 years.

The Crawfordsville Community Club will hold the first Christmas in July Ice Cream Social on Sunday, July 28, beginning at 4 p.m., until the fun runs out at the Watertower Park, better known as the City Park in Crawfordsville. Those attending are asked to bring their own lawn chairs, bowls, utensils and drinks. Ice cream will be provided.

There will be fire truck rides, sprinklers for the kids, an ugliest shorts and tank top contest and pictures with Santa may be purchased. There will also be Christmas caroling and a kids coloring contest.

Coloring pages may be picked up at Peoples Savings Bank and must be returned by July 28.

The United Church of Crawfordsville will join the Ainsworth Community Church for worship on Sunday, July 21, at Marr Park near Ainsworth at 10:30 a.m. Bring your own lawn chair. Following worship service, there will be a potluck dinner, so bring a favorite potluck dish to share and your own table service.
