The United Church Women met Tuesday, Jan. 14, at the United Church of Crawfordsville at 2 p.m. with 11 members present.

The meditation was given by Cathy Williams. She read "The Hidden Life," a reading based on Colossians 3:17. The reading was taken from "Our Daily Bread," a devotional booklet. Persons are to use whatever talents they possess, regardless of how ordinary they may seem to be to meet the needs of others. This is a way of serving God.

The meeting was called to order by President Debbie Lowe. Members read together the UCW opening creed.

Committee reports were given. Dorcas is now working on completing adult-sized quilts to be given to the Fellowship Cup in Mt. Pleasant. The next sewing day was set for Jan. 27.

She reviewed some of the buildings and facilities used worldwide for the United Methodist Women mission projects. The Call to Prayer and Self Denial Offerings was taken to help maintain the facilities and support the cause. The Fellowship of the Least Coin Offering was recited by members and the offering taken.

During the business meeting, discussion was held regarding the church kitchen updating. UCW members were encouraged to offer suggestions. Indefinite plans were made to move present storage shelves located in the table/chair storage area to another room.
