The Crawfordsville Lions Club met at 7 p.m. Monday, March 24, at the Crawfordsville Community Room. Twelve members were present.

President Larry Fletcher opened the meeting by leading the Pledge to the Flag and giving the opening prayer.

The minutes from the March 10 meeting were approved as read. The treasurer reported the balances in the regular and activity accounts.

Upcoming community events were discussed-the Easter Egg Hunt sponsored by the Crawfordsville Community Club on Saturday, April 5 at 10 a.m., as well as the July 5 Fun Day, which the Lions will co-sponsor.

The slate of officers were presented for balloting: president, Mindy Rochwick; first vice president, Loree Stodgill; 2nd Vice President: Billie Jo Rose; 3rd Vice President: Lance Miller; Secretary: Nancy Love; Treasurer: Randy Finke; Tail Twister: Larry Fletcher; Lion Tamer: Mike Massey; 1 Year Directors: Rick Fulton and Larry Swailes; 2 Year Directors: Craig Koehler and Gene Lintz

The vote was unanimous to accept these.

Road cleanup will take place April 5, beginning at 9 a.m. People are to meet at the town sign at the edge of town. Rain date is April 12. Randy Finke will take care of procuring the bags and recruiting Leo Club members to assist. Comments about the upcoming District Convention were exchanged. Larry Love mentioned he had attended the Wayland Lions Club meeting and the club, which the Crawfordsville Lions sponsored, would be celebrating a notable anniversary soon.

It was noted that the club will have the two WACO exchange students as speakers at the next dinner meeting, April 14

New member Adam Mitchell was installed into Lions by Arvid Anderson. The club is delighted to have him as a valuable addition to the club.

The meeting then adjourned.

Delicious refreshments were served by Randy Finke, and while everyone was enjoying them Tail Twister Larry Fletcher teased their brains with some trivia questions.

Holy Week will begin with Maundy Thursday services at the Ainsworth Community Church from 4 to 7 p.m. on April 17, Good Friday services are at The United Church of Crawfordsville on April 18. The United Church of Crawfordsville will have a Sunrise Service on Easter Sunday, April 20 at 7 a.m., with breakfast following.
