Wilma McAllister returned Monday after accompanying her daughter and husband, Chris and Steve Williams of Anamosa, on a 10-day trip to St. George Island off the coast of the Florida Panhandle. They enjoyed watching the oyster fishermen and made stops at many quilt shops, which the ladies especially enjoyed.

Head Start at WACO in Crawfordsville has preschool openings now. This is for children ages 3-5, Monday-Thursday from 8 to 11:30 a.m. This is a free program available to families who meet enrollment quidelines. The Head Start program is provided by HACAP Orchard Hill in Washington. For more information call 319-653-7275.

The Women of Faith will hold a fundraiser on Sunday, Feb. 10, at the Winfield United Methodist Church. This will be a Beefburger/Valentine Dessert Auction. They will begin serving at 11:30 a.m. and a free-will offering will be taken. The menu will feature beefburgers, salads, chips and veggies.

The auction of desserts is to begin at approximately 12 p.m. Everyone is welcome to help this worthy cause.

The annual Lions Pancake and Sausage supper will be held on Saturday, Feb. 9, at the WACO Elementary School in Crawfordsville. Serving time is 4 to 7 p.m.
