The Crawfordsville Lions Club met at 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 8, at the Crawfordsville Community Room with 10 members present.

President Steve Williams opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and Larry Fletcher offered prayer.

After a delicious meal prepared and served by Alice Hochstetler, the meeting reconvened.

In the absence of Secretary Nancy Love, Billie Jo Rose read the minutes from the March 25 meeting. They were approved as read.

Treasurer Randy Finke gave the treasurer’s report.

Correspondence was read from a Crawfordsville-area resident requesting help in paying for eyeglasses. A motion to act on this request was approved.

It was reported that nine people had taken part in the road cleanup project Saturday morning, April 6 along Highway 218.

Members were reminded of the district convention to be held in Fort Madison on Saturday, April 13, and also of the benefit for Craig Davey on Saturday, April 13. The upcoming car show at the Crawfordsville Ball Park to be held on Saturday, June 1, was also discussed.

The United Church of Crawfordsville will hold the annual Spring Rummage Sale April 25-27. On Thursday, April 25 it will run from 1 to 6 p.m.; Friday, April 26 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturday, April 27 from 8 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. There will be clothes, knickknacks, toys, housewares and much, much more all for a free-will offering.

Names and contact information for any Crawfordsville area students who will be graduating from high school this spring are needed. The Membership and Mission Committee will host a recognition breakfast on Sunday, May 19. Please leave this information on the secretary’s desk as soon as possible or call the church office at 319-658-2366.

Also, on Memorial Day Sunday, May 26, a slideshow video during the regular church service at the United Church of Crawfordsville will be shown to celebrate the lives of loved ones who have passed. Anytime before May 19, feel free to bring pictures to share with the congregation so their memory will be honored. Please contact Jewell Schultz or e-mail pictures to her. Share this wonderful tribute of respect and remembrance. These pictures will only be shared at the United Church of Crawfordsville.
