Creative Living, Fortnightly
Seven members of the Creative Living department of Fortnightly met for a cooperative luncheon at the U.P. Home Campus Center Thursday, Dec. 6. Hostesses were Julia Gamon and Joleen Krotz. Table decorations were arranged by Sharon Niffenegger.
Following the delicious meal, Joleen presided at a short business meeting. Roll call was answered by naming or showing a favorite Christmas ornament. For inspiration, Esther Bordwell read a short story, “My Favorite Christmas Memory.”
Shirley Pfeifer presented an interesting program based on the book “97 Orchard” by Jane Zeigelman, an edible history of the immigrant families in one New York tenement. She closed with a story, “My First Christmas in America,” by an Italian author.
The meeting was adjourned. Members were reminded that the next meeting will not be held until Feb. 28, 2013.
