Daughters of the American Revolution
The Washington Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution met on Monday, April 1, at noon at café dodici in Washington. Regent Julie Beenblossom conducted the business meeting.
Discussion was held on open house dates for the Alexander Young Cabin this summer. One such date will be Sunday, July 14. Newly elected officers are regent Julie Mangold, vice regent Nancy Anderson, treasurer Marj Lins, recording secretary Ruth Ann Stacy, chaplain Dorothy Miller, historian Irene West, registrar Wanda Zuehlke, and librarian Joan Waggoner.
The next meeting will be a brunch held at the home of Julie Mangold on Saturday, May 4, at 9:30 a.m.
Virginia McCurdy presented the program on the history of businesses located on the Washington square. She illustrated her informative presentation with diagrams from 1964, 1989 and 2013. These diagrams sparked lively discussion and fond memories among the members.
