Demon bowlers finish fourth at Muscatine tournament
MUSCATINE — The Washington girls’ bowling team opened its season with a fourth-place finish at the Muskie Invitational at PlaMor Lanes in Muscatine on Saturday.
The Demons totaled a team score of 1,742. DeWitt Central won the tournament with a score of 2,418, and North Scott was second with a score of 2,394. Louisa-Muscatine finished third with a score of 2,125.
Junior Brandi Hagans led the Demons on Saturday. Her identical games of 142 were Washington’s best of the day, and she finished with a two-game series score of 284. Junior Elaney England had a two-game total of 217, and sophomore Ivy Hamilton rolled a 216 series. Sophomore Kali McDole had a 212 two-game total, and sophomore Rylee Arbogast’s 187 series rounded out the scoring. Sophomore Abbey Tisor had a 177 series. Washington toppled 1,116 pins in the individual round, and then added 626 pins in the Baker round.
The Washington bowling team will be back in action on Saturday when they travel to the Iris Bowling Center in Mt. Pleasant to take on the rival Panthers. The Southeast Conference dual meet is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
