Demon boys get first conference victory
MT. PLEASANT – On Thursday, April 10, the Washington High School boys’ junior varsity and varsity golf teams got their Southeast Conference season off to a good start, defeating the Mt. Pleasant High School Panthers 166 – 172.
Derek Anding again led the Demons and received meet medalist honors with his one-over-par score of 37.
Ryan Waite, Blake Weidman and Tanner Coleman all shot a 43. Mason Rich finished with a 49 and Noah Enfield had a 50 on his scorecard to finish the varsity scores for Washington.
“I was proud of how my guys handled the pressure. Being strong mentally is a key to being successful in golf,” Washington head coach Mark Berhow commented.
For the JV golfers, Lane Burlingame led the way with his 48. Grant Marek finished with a 49. Jacob Miles shot a 51. Andrew Waite and Jacob Fisher each had a 52 and Alex Latcham rounded things out with a 53.
