Demon seventh-grade girls win A game at Fort Madison
FORT MADISON — The Washington seventh-grade girls’ basketball team won the A game at Fort Madison on Jan. 31, but the Bloodhounds won the B and C games.
The Demon A team blew out the Bloodhounds 33-16. Morgan Brinning scored a game-high 16 points to lead Washington (4-2), and she also had eight steals and five rebounds. Sarah Nacos added five points, three steals and two rebounds. Megan Mitchell and Brooke Stout scored four points apiece. Stout also had three rebounds and a steal in the game, and Mitchell had a pair of thefts and a rebound. Megan Strabala and Reagan Caffery both had two points and a steal in the contest. Kristen Twinam and Kaylee Enfield both pulled down a rebound, while Makenna Rich, Baylee Stalder and Allison Vogel each came up with a steal.
Fort Madison defeated Washington 15-9 in the B game. Stalder scored four points and grabbed three rebounds to lead the Demons (0-5-1), while Rich and Caffery both added two points. Rich had three steals in the game, and Caffery also had a theft. Twinam had one point and a pair of steals. Enfield grabbed two rebounds in the contest, and Michaela Hoffman had a rebound and a steal.
The Bloodhounds topped the Demons 18-5 in the C game. Emily Collier and Erin Mills scored two points apiece to lead Washington (0-4), and Mills also grabbed a rebound. Breanna Brinning had one point to go with a pair of rebounds. Mackenzie Beam contributed three rebounds and two steals in the game, and Jackie Nunez had a rebound and a theft. Savannah White and Liliana Torez both pulled down a rebound.
