Eighth-grade girls A team goes 1-1

The Washington eighth-grade girls’ team defeated Aldo 51-7, Monday.
After one quarter the score was 14-2 and at the half the game was well in hand with a 35-2 lead.
The team shot 50 percent from the floor and had two double-digit scorers. Morgan Brinning and Sara Nacos had 13 points, each. Brinning lead the team with six steals. Nacos had a team-high three rebounds.
Tuesday against Keokuk, the A team lost 42-15.
Washington trailed by eight at the half before the lead was stretched to 35-15 after the third quarter.
Brooke Stout had a team-high 5 points and was tied for the team lead with three rebounds and two steals.
Nacos chipped in with three boards. Brinning had two steals.
The B team fell to 1-2 with a 25-8 loss to Keokuk, Tuesday.
Washington was held to 2 points in the opening half. The Demons scored 6 of their 8 points in the third quarter.
Michaela Hoffman and Baylee Stalder had three rebounds, each. Hoffman and Jessica Hora each had a steal.
