Event to benefit Courage Ride
On Saturday, July 20, a benefit auction and parking lot party will be held at Unc and Neph's Bar and Grill. All proceeds from this event will be directed to the University of Iowa Foundation to benefit sarcoma and general cancer treatment research at the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center.
This is the first year the Courage Ride has been promoted in Washington. The event will honor Dan Sorrell (Neph), who lost his fight with sarcoma earlier this year.
The benefit will begin at 8 p.m. at 1015 W. Madison St. in Washington.
The Courage Ride was started by the Bailey family in honor of the son, Seth. Seth was a junior at Iowa Mennonite School when he was diagnosed with soft tissue sarcoma. He died in 2003.
