Fairfield bowlers edge Washington by 39 pins
FAIRFIELD — Fairfield edged the Washington girls’ bowling team by 39 pins during Saturday’s Southeast Conference dual meet at Flamingo Lanes.
Fairfield totaled a team score of 2,048, just ahead of Washington’s total of 2,009.
Sophomore Ivy Hamilton rolled games of 105 and 189, and her two-game series score of 294 led the Demons. Sophomore Jessica Londberg had a 282 series, and junior Brandi Hagans had a two-game total of 264. Sophomores Kali McDole and Kailey Martin both had a 240 series to round out the scoring, and junior Elaney England had a two-game total of 190. Washington added 689 pins in the Baker round.
The Washington boys’ bowling team lost to Fairfield by 216 pins in its first outing of the season. The Demons totaled a score of 2,316 on the day.
Senior Dalton Nichols rolled games of 214 and 205, and his two-game series score of 419 led Washington. Senior Adam Woodson had a 286 series. Seniors Allan Raymundo and Shawn Edwards had two-game totals of 265 and 264, respectively, and senior Zach Martin rounded out the scoring with his 257 series. Senior Ryan Roberts toppled 237 pins on the afternoon. The Demons added 825 pins in the Baker round.
The Washington bowling team will host rival Mt. Pleasant for a Southeast Conference dual meet this Saturday at Melody Lanes. The meet will begin at 2 p.m.
