Fairfield tops Washington in bowling
The Washington High School bowling team faced off with Fairfield on Saturday, Jan. 11 at Flamingo Lanes in Fairfield. The Trojans took a 2,628 – 1,999 victory in the boys’ frames and a 2,250 – 2,094 in the girls’ frames.
Jessica Londberg bowled the high score for the Demon girls with a two-game total of 379, helping the girls to a 1,388 first round score. For the Washington boys, Kylan Gillette set the pace at 256 for his two games as the boys posted a first round total of 1,339.
The boys’ team managed to win the fourth of five Baker games 186-168 in the second round of competition.
In their second round of competition, the girls won three of the five Baker games and bowled to a draw in a fourth to win the second round 706-701 but Fairfield’s edge from the first round was still enough to give the Trojans the victory.
