Farmers Market starts May 23
The Washington Farmers Market will begin the 2013 season Thursday evening May 23, 5 p.m. in Central Park downtown Washington.
Cold and wet weather has been less than favorable for planting even the earliest spring produce. Expectations are that asparagus may be the lone vegetable available, but the selection of fresh baked goods should provide a good selection for local dinner tables.
The full complement of wholesome social interaction with friends and neighbors, re-establishing contact with local growers, bakers and artisans, the beginning of summer activities: all the anticipations of next Thursday. See you there!
