Fleur de Lis
Fleur de Lis Club members met at 12:30 p.m. at the home of Pat Stout on Thursday, Dec. 13. Members enjoyed a variety of salads and finished up with sweet treats of caramels, fudge and cookies.
Following the luncheon, a short business meeting was led by President Nancy Kimmel. Roll call was answered with members telling or showing a favorite Christmas ornament or a gift they were giving to someone for Christmas. Secretary-Treasurer Linda Birney read the minutes of the last minute and gave the treasurer’s report. She also reported on delivery of the Christmas contribution to HACAP. Pictures taken of the 100th year celebration at the home of Marie Hora on Nov. 15, 2012, were passed around and viewed. Nancy Kimmel had a reading of "My Favorite Things," based on the Julie Andrews song, but the words changed to relate to old age.
Pat Stout gave a short program on pop-up books and she had several books she shared with the group on loan by former member, Maxine Martin. They were Christmas Around the World and Winter’s Tale. They were very intricate in design. Pat also shared some ideas one could give family members for Christmas. The remainder of the afternoon was spent visiting on a wide array of subjects.
The club group will vacation during the month of January, but will meet again on Feb. 28, for a husband/guest night out at 6 p.m. Kathy Ebert is hostess for the evening.
