Foundation announces fourth quarter municipal grant awards
The Washington County Riverboat Foundation (WCRF) announced nine fourth-quarter city grant awards totaling $184,654 through its municipal grant program.
Through the Municipal Grant program, the WCRF distributes 25 percent of its total revenues directly to the cities in Washington County based on population. For 2013, the WCRF has distributed $841,825 to the nine cities in Washington County and $5.9 million since its inception. These funds are programmed by each city council.
In the fourth quarter, Ainsworth received $7,870. For the entire year, the city received $34,935, and since 2006, $239,258.
Brighton received $9,046 in the fourth quarter; for the year, $40,155 for 2013; and $296,774 since 2006.
For the fourth quarter, Coppock received $189; for 2013, $841; and since 2006, $6,190.
Crawfordsville received $3,660 in the fourth quarter; $16,247 for 2013; and a total of $124,537.
Kalona saw $32,753 in the fourth quarter; $145,383 in 2013; and $1,025,311 since 2006.
In the fourth quarter, Riverside's share was $13,768; in 2013, $61,116; and since 2006, $421,695.
The largest city in the county, Washington, received $100,801 in the fourth quarter; $447,430 in 2013; and a total of $3,153,277 since 2006.
Wellman received $19,534 in the fourth quarter; $86,708 for the year; and a total of $618,141 since 2006.
West Chester received $2,029 in the fourth quarter; $9,007 in 2013; and, since 2006, $67,840.
The WCRF is the nonprofit license holder for the Riverside Casino and Golf Resort, which provides all of its funding.
