Foundation gives municipal grants
The Washington County Riverboat Foundation (WCRF) released the second quarter municipal grant award amounts yesterday.
According to WCRF administrative assistant Jim Logan, the total given in municipal grants for this year’s second quarter was $224,260.52. The WCRF municipal grant program distributes 25 percent of its total revenues directly to the cities in Washington County based on population.
The City of Washington received the highest amount of $119,194.48. The City of Kalona was second and received $38,729.79. The City of Wellman received $23,098.93. The City of Riverside received $16,281.31. The City of Brighton received $10,697.23. Ainsworth received $9,306.81. Crawfordsville received $4,328.22. The City of West Chester received $2,399.59 and the City of Coppock received $224.26.
Each city council decides how to spend the funds received from the municipal grants.
