Four Golden Hawks given RVC honor
The River Valley Conference has named its All-Conference boys’ basketball teams for the 2013-14 season, and four Mid-Prairie players are listed on the rosters.
Senior Nick Stimson of Mid-Prairie represents the Golden Hawks on the South division’s first team. Playing in all 23 of Mid-Prairie’s games this past season, Stimson led the team and tied for ninth in the South division in scoring, averaging 11 points per game. Stimson also averaged 3.2 rebounds, 2.35 assists and 1.78 steals per contest.
Senior Dayton Hall of Mid-Prairie was selected to the South division’s second team. Hall averaged 10.8 points, 3.3 assists, 2.74 steals and 2.4 rebounds in 23 games this past season. Hall’s 76 assists were the fourth-most in the River Valley South and his 63 steals led the division.
Golden Hawk senior Christian Johnson and sophomore Nolan Faselt were given honorable mention. Both played in all 23 Mid-Prairie games. Johnson’s averages were nine points and 4.9 rebounds. Faselt averaged 3.7 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists.
The Golden Hawks went 11 - 12 overall and 10 - 10 in conference games this past season.
The teams were selected by the conference’s coaches after the boys’ state tournaments ended last week.
