Franklin Cubs 4-H Club

The monthly meeting of the Franklin Cubs 4-H Club was held Sunday, March 3, 2013, at the Washington County Extension Office.

The meeting was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance led by Jameson Bell. Roll call was to name a favorite book. The secretary's and treasurer’s reports were given. A reminder to all members showing livestock at the fair must be FSQA certified.

The club was informed of an upcoming community service project at the West Chester Heritage building in March or April. A photography meeting would be held Saturday, March 9, at the extension office. The club was asked if they wanted a team for the upcoming 4-H dodge ball tournament on Sunday, March 10, and the club voted to have one. The club was informed of the 4-H skating party being rescheduled for Sunday, March 24, at the Wellman skating rink.

Swine Weigh-in will be Saturday, March 23 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. A dog project meeting will be held Tuesday, April 2 at 7 p.m. at the extension office. A pet project meeting would be April 3 at 6 at the Extension building.The club was asked to help at the Washington County Spring Preview Cattle Show and breakfast fundraiser beginning at 7 a.m. April 20.

The meeting was adjourned with the 4-H Pledge led by Ben Schneider. The next meeting would be Sunday, April 7 at 5:30 p.m. at the extension office.

The meeting was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance led by Jameson Bell. Roll call was to name a characteristic of a good leader. The secretary's and treasurer’s reports were given.

The club talked about the 4-H skating party and asked how they thought it went. The club was reminded to register all 4-H animals through 4-H online by May 15. The Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser would be held April 20. The club was asked to sign up and work a 1-1/2-hour shift at the fundraiser. The Washington County Spring preview Cattle Show would also be held April 20, starting at 11 a.m. The Sheep and Goat Weigh-In will be Saturday, May 4 from 8 to 11 a.m. at the fairgrounds.

The meeting was adjourned with the 4-H Pledge led by Collin Greiner. Hunter Bell gave a presentation on being Farm Wise. The next meeting will be Sunday, May 5, at the extension office.
