Goats and dogs shown MondayWashington County Fair includes sheep, horses, rabbits and poultry Tuesday
Mild weather punctuated the Washington County Fair Monday, with temperatures in the 70s as events including the dairy and meat goat show and the dog agility show were held.
During the dairy and meat goat show, Madison Fishback of Washington Go-Getters showed the grand champion commercial meat goat doe/wether, while Sydney Black of Highlanders showed the reserve. Lindsey Palmer of Limcreek Limelights had the champion rate of gain and Zane Arnold of Riverside Ramblers had the reserve. Hannah Van Roekel of Limecreek Limelights won the champion senior goat showmanship prize while Cheyenne Sedlacek of Crooked Creek showed the reserve. Spencer Arnold of Riverside Ramblers won the champion intermediate showmanship prize while Brent Foster of Mid-Prairie FFA got the reserve. Haley Sweeting of Riverside Ramblers won the champion junior showmanship award.
Balei Gerot of Highlanders showed the champion junior dairy goat. Ben Ahrens of Mid-Prairie FFA showed the champion yearling dairy doe and the champion senior dairy doe. Ahrens also showed the grand champion dairy goat and Gerot showed the reserve.
Zoe Fisher of Limecreek Limelights showed the champion dairy goat wether and Zane Fisher of Bows & Bullets showed the reserve.
Haley Sweeting of Riverside Ramblers showed the champion junior breeding meat goat doe and Arnold showed the reserve. Sweeting also showed the champion breeding yearling meat goat doe and the reserve, the champion breeding meat goat doe 25 months plus; the grand champion meat goat doe and the reserve grand champion meat goat doe.
In the dog agility show, Maggie Smith of Washington Go-Getters showed the champion novice agility small dog and Lona Farrier of Crooked Creek showed the reserve. Oren Danker of Good Luck showed the champion novice agility medium dog and Zoe Fisher showed the reserve. Jessica Schoonover of Horse and Pony Club showed the champion novice agility large dog and Olin Altenhofen showed the reserve.
The Washington County Fair continues through this week.
